Downtown York is bursting out all over with Spring Fling, April's First Friday event.

The celebration runs 5-9 p.m. Friday throughout the downtown area and features specials, discounts and entertainment from York's restaurants and shops, The event is organized monthly by Downtown Inc and is sponsored by WellSpan Health.

The first block of North Beaver Street and the first block of South Duke Street will be closed to traffic starting at 4:30 p.m.

Some of the highlights this month:

Get ready for the York Revolution opening day and take a picture with DownTown on North Beaver Street.

Visit adoptable dogs and puppies from PA Caring for K-9's at My Girlfriend's Wardrobe, 41 W. Market St.

Live musical performances from The YMCA Temple Guard, Weary Arts Group and others in the Royal Square District, with free popcorn.

Jazz in the City, 5 p.m. at the Strand Studio, Philadelphia Street entrance. Admission $5, free with student ID.

Beer tastings from The Beer Ace at spots through the Market District and Royal Square.

End the evening with "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," 9 p.m. at the Strand Theatre, 50 N. George St. Tickets $7.
