York Weekend Extras for 3-25: Natural egg dyeing, 'The General,' 'Reveil'

Learn to dye your Easter eggs without buying one of those kits at the grocery with Natural Eye Dyeing, 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Nixon County Park. Participants will hear about the history of egg dyeing then try it themselves, using onion skins, blueberries, coffee and other ingredients. Bring up to 12 hard-boiled eggs and wear clothes that can get stained. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost: $3 per child, Registration: 428-1961.

Buster Keaton in "The General"

View comic genius Buster Keaton's artistic milestone when the 1926 silent action-adventure-comedy "The General" is presented at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Capitol Theatre, 50 N. George St. Based on a true story, this Civil War tale not only starred Keaton but was written and co-directed by him as well. The film will be accompanied by the Strand-Capitol's Wurlitzer organ.

York College presents "Reveil — Waking Up French,” 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in the Humanities Center Room 218. The film looks at the cultural struggle of French-Canadian and Franco-American communities in New England. Free.
