Christmas Magic opens Friday and runs through Dec. 31 at Rocky Ridge County Park. The 0.5-mile walking trail is decorated with nearly 600,000 Christmas lights plus holiday scenes, animations, a G-gauge train display and, yes, Santa Claus. York College will hold a free screening of “Z for Zachariah,” a film that tells the story of the end of humanity after a disaster wipes out civilization, at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Humanities Center. Director Craig Zobel is expected to be on hand. Ann Burden (Margot Robbie), a young woman who believes she is the last human on Earth, meets a dying scientist, Loomis (Chiwetel Ejiofor), who is searching for survivors. Their relationship begins to unravel when another male survivor, Caleb (Chris Pine), enters their lives.
