York Weekend Extras for 9/11: York Fair, Hidden Art Walking Tour
The 250th York Fair runs Friday through Sept. 20 at the York Expo Center. Fair gates open at 11 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at noon Sunday through Thursday. Tickets: adults $8, students 6-18 and college students with ID, $4, 5 and under free, discounts available most days. Parking: $7. Fairlong pass (admission for one plus parking): $75. Along with deep-fried anything and the usual Ferris wheel, Tilt-A-Whirl and sideshows, fairgoers this year can see the racing pigs, Royal Hanneford Circus, Marvelous Mutts and Matt's Family Jam. The grandstand stage will host Brantley Gilbert on Saturday; John Kay and Steppenwolf on Tuesday; Cole Swindell and Clark Manson on Wednesday; TNA Wrestling on Thursday; Andy Grammer and American Authors on Friday, Sept. 18; Alabama on Saturday, Sept. 19; and Lauren Alaina on Sunday, Sept. 20. Ticket prices vary, and most concerts start at 7:30 p.m. The Radio Stage, sponsored by WGTY, will have free performances by country artists including Kelsea Ballerini, Chase Bryant, LoCash and Chris Janson. Sneak a peek at some of York's treasures with the Hidden Art Walking Tour, 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17. The tour, led by JJ Sheffer and state Rep.
