John Philip Knobloch, 95, of York and formerly of Hanover, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 at SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Sprenkle Drive, York. He was the husband of Gloria (Williams) Aughenbaugh Knobloch, York and the late Nancy L. (Baker) Knobloch who died September 24, 2011. Born June 19, 1927 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John Philip and Dorothy (Grant) Knobloch. Phil moved to York in 1941 and graduated from William Penn High School in 1945. He served with the United States Marine Corps during WWII and moved to Hanover in 1963. Phil retired from Hanover Foods and was the former owner of Knobloch’s Deli Sandwich Shops in Hanover and Camp Hill for 37 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, John Knobloch and wife Nichelle, Spring Grove and William Knobloch and wife Stephanie, Lititz; son-in-law, Michael Kochansky, Murrell’s Inlet, SC; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Lynn (Knobloch) Kochansky and step-daughter, Pamela (Aughenbaugh) Nester and her husband, David Nester. Services will be private.
