Paul (Bud) Allison Garbrick Jr, 92, entered into his heavenly home on March 16, 2023 at 8am in York, PA. Paul was born July 6, 1930 to parents Sadie and Paul Garbrick Sr. Paul was a very active student at North York High School where he graduated from in 1948. He played on many sports teams. He played baseball, basketball and was on the track team. Paul served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years. After returning home from Korea and finishing his service, Paul entered the workforce. He worked at Bendix for 9 years, and Caterpillar for 25 years before starting his tour guide career with Harley Davidson. Even though Paul only rode on a motorcycle once in his life, for 8 years he dazzled all his customers with his immense knowledge of every type of motorcycle Harley made. Paul was an active member at Fourth United Methodist Church for all of his 92 years. He was also an active member with the Gideons for 46 years and helped distribute testaments everywhere he went. Paul led many Sunday School classes and if you were lucky enough, you got to hear him sing hymns with Fred Landis during special events at church. Paul’s other hobbies included woodworking, playing and watching golf and hearing about his grandchildren’s travels and adventures. He also loved video chatting with his great-grandchildren to listen to all their stories and laugh at their jokes. Paul also loved his furry buddy, Gus, and shared his lunch with him daily. Paul is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Sarah Jane Garbrick of Red Lion. He is also preceded in death by his brother Richard Garbrick and is survived by his sister Mary Jane Sanders. Paul was a devoted father to his children Mary-Kay Williams (husband, Brad Williams), David Garbrick (wife, Janet Garbrick), Phill Garbrick and Rachel Swartz (husband, Steve Swartz). Paul was also a very loving grandfather to his grandchildren Mathew Williams, Michael Williams, Jonathan Williams, Rebecca Garbrick, Megan Garbrick, and Katelyn Askew. Paul was also a loving and supportive great-grandfather to his 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Fourth United Methodist Church, 1067 E. Market Street, York with Rev. Matthew Loyer, his pastor, and Rev. Ronald French officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with graveside military rites conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held Monday, March 20, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market Street, York and Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251 or to Fourth United Methodist Church, 20 North Lehman Street, York PA 17403.
