Beverly Arletta (Kling) Gibbs, 86, of York died March 14, 2023 at York Hospital surrounded by her loving family following a sudden illness. She was the wife of the late Edwin Charles Gibbs. Beverly and Edwin were married 56 years prior to his death in 2014. Beverly cared for her husband and visited him in the nursing home every day for the 3 years before his death. Born September 28, 1936 in Bittersville, York County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Laura (Graham) Kling. Beverly was survived by her 3 children, Tim Gibbs (Stacey), Joe Gibbs (Mary), and Holly Wilson (Dan); 5 grandchildren, Megan Gibbs (Lance Shifflett), Michael Gibbs, Brett Wilson (Sabrina Geyer), Nathan Wilson (Courtney Zerbe), and Leah Wilson. She was preceded in death by 6 sisters and 6 brothers. Beverly was employed at Key Plastics for 30 years and following her retirement, she was a greeter at Sam’s Club. She enjoyed Penn State and Ravens Football, but Tom Brady was her favorite player. She was known for her long voice mails that would end in a sudden bye-bye and spelling aurora borealis! In her younger years, she was a yard sale hopper who loved finding things for people at the yard sales. If she wasn’t home, she was either at Weis Markets or a Bingo Hall where she won many jackpots. Beverly was an animal lover, especially her cat, Miss. She was proud that she voted for the first time when she was 80 years old, and Trump won. Family was very important to Beverly. She would talk about her grandchildren to anyone who would listen. She was a great mother and grandmother and was loved by so many. She was a good friend to many and will be missed deeply by all who knew her especially her neighbors, Dawn and Judy. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
