Rodger D. Dick, 77, passed away Thursday, March 9th, 2023. He was the husband of Carol Y. (Gentzler) Dick to whom he was married for 57 years. They were high school sweethearts. Born July 11th, 1945, in Lancaster, the son of the late Betty Dick and Andrew Reynolds, he was a 1963 graduate of William Penn High School. Rodger retired after 17 years of service with Met-Ed. He was a lifelong member of the Hawks Club, The Vigilant Social Club and The York YMCA. Rodger A.K.A “Pug” (A nickname given to him by his grandchildren) was known to spoil his children and grandchildren rotten. He was an avid softball player and fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. Rodger could often be seen proudly supporting his grandchildren on the sidelines of their various sporting events. He enjoyed driving around town in his many stylish vehicles that he owned over the years. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like a lunch date with a loved one or reading his Sunday Paper. He also loved nothing more than making people laugh and said that was his purpose in life. In addition to his wife, Rodger is survived by three daughters, Tracey, and husband David Bare of Manchester; Kelly and husband Matthew Kessler of York; Debbie and husband Christopher Aszmus of Lititz; six grandchildren, Nicholas, and wife Katherine Bare, Brendan Bare, Natalie Kessler, Luke Kessler, Ryan Aszmus, and Andrew Aszmus. There will be a private family gathering to celebrate Rodger’s life. In lieu of flowers or a gift, a donation to your favorite charity can be made.
