I have known Mary Ann for more than 40 years through our church. She has been like a mother to me. She was there for me as I raised my boys. When I was sick with cancer or was incapacitated from operations, she helped with food, errands, and chores. I watched Mary Ann suffer through many hardships: the loss of her daughter, losing her house to a fire, taking care of the husband with dementia, and being homebound through hospice. She handled each of these events with grace, strong faith, and a positive outlook. She was a role model to all. I'm sure heaven is celebrating now that she is home. We will miss her dearly but remember her fondly. Someday we will be reunited again.
