David Lee Lehr

David Lee Lehr passed away peacefully on January 12th, 2023 at MUSC in Charleston, SC. Dave was born in York County, PA in May of 1948 and graduated from York High in 1966. He was residing at TerraBella Myrtle Beach retirement community in SC with his surviving wife Jane (Holland) Lehr. Jane’s children include John Rau, Jim Rau (deceased), and Amy Kauffman. Dave’s death was preceded by his parents, William Sr. and Miriam (Furst) Lehr, as well as brothers Bob, Bill, Don and Dan Lehr. He is survived by ‘sissy’ Deb Zearfoss and brother Pete Lehr. Also survived are his previous wife, Karen Byrd, along with their children Sherry Jansky, Dave Lehr II, Angie Wolfgang, Steph Cucina, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grand children. Dave’s hobbies included model trains, various sports and music. He enjoyed singing in the choir, playing softball, hunting in upstate PA & telling jokes. Up until his death he still enjoyed following Penn State football and York High Basketball. A celebration of his life will be announced by the family at a later date.
