Obituary

Evelyn J. (Golden) Duck, 96, entered heaven’s gates to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, June 27, 2022. Born June 11, 1926 in Oyen, Alberta Canada to the late Roy A. and Lillie Rae Golden. Evelyn was a lifetime resident of West Manchester Twp. in York and a life member of Shiloh Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was retired from York Shipley after 25 years of service. A 50-year member of the U.S. Army Reserve Officers Ladies Association. Evelyn participated in the York Chapter as well as the Pennsylvania State President and National Director supporting military families. Preceded in death was husband of 50 years, Lt. Colonel G. Quentin Duck, U.S. Army; a sister, Dorothy E. Detter, and an infant sister, Phyllis Golden. Evelyn is survived by two sons, Stanley C. Duck of York and Stephen Q. Golden and his wife Carol of FL, a daughter, Brenda L. Campbell, and her husband John of York. She was blessed with four granddaughters and six great grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, always remembered birthdays, and loved to laugh and have fun. A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will be her pastor, DeAnn Books. Burial will be in Shiloh Union Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2201 Carlisle Rd., York, PA 17408.
