Charlotte D. Mueller, 92, died on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at her residence. She was the wife of the late John H. Mueller. Born August 18, 1929, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, she was the daughter of the late D.W. and Vera (Gilbert) Detwiler. Charlotte attended the University of Nebraska, Wilson College, and graduated from Katherine Gibbs Finishing School of NYC. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and PEO Sisterhood. She and John loved to travel the USA, visiting 48 of the 50 states. Charlotte was an avid gardener, and an excellent seamstress and baker. She enjoyed bridge, ancestral history, her steak “Pittsburgh Rare” and the Blue, Blue Sky. She is survived by two daughters, Katherine A. Sponseller and her husband, Richard of Alexandria, VA and Karen Louise Mueller and her husband, Craig Kauffman of York; her granddaughter, Michele Turfler; two great-grandchildren, Lars, and Zoe; her niece, Nancie Park; and her nephew, George Hummel, Jr. She was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Hummel. We cannot list Charlotte’s loved ones without mentioning her devoted Skipper and Muffin. A private burial was held on June 20th.
