Courtney M.E. Waltimyer

Santa Rosa Beach, FL - Courtney Mae Elaine Waltimyer was born on May 27, 1988 in York, PA. She was 33 years old. She graduated from Spring Grove Area High School in 2006.

Courtney, formerly of Spring Grove and Washington, D.C. died tragically by a hit and run driver in Bay County, FL on October 16, 2021 at 9:45 am. She was riding her bike in the bike lane training for her next triathlon, Ironman Arizona in November.

She died doing what she loved to do. Her training ethics were well known to all who knew and loved her. All her triathlon members she met along the way remained close to her.

She is survived by her parents, Thomas and Linda Waltimyer and her grandfather Francis Laughman of Spring Grove, PA. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Jeremy Pritchett and his wife Chelsea of York, PA and her sister Kaitlin Wise of Dover, PA. She is also survived by her nephews Landon (Prince Landon) and Greyson (Chubby Cheeks) Pritchett who were her pride and joy.

In addition, she is survived by her uncles, Kurt Waltimyer of York, PA , Wayne Laughman of East Berlin, PA and Eugene Laughman and his wife Karen of East Berlin, PA as well as other extended family members.

Courtney is also survived by her "Bestie" Lara Horst and her husband Ryan of Carbondale, CO and her special "adopted" nephews Senna and Colby Horst who she loved dearly. She is also survived by her special friend, Tony Pearlman of Washington, D.C. and her fur baby Boo.

Following cremation, following Courtney's prior wishes there will be no services but there will be a celebration of her life in Washington, D.C. at a later date.

Thank you also to the many friends and relatives who have reached out to us with your love, support and prayers. Also thank you to the Florida Highway Patrol Troop-A of Panama City, FL Corporal Ellis and Officer Stephanie, Walton County Sheriff's Dept. Sheriff Mark and Officer Leah and Heritage Shores Funeral Home & Cremation Centre of Panama City, FL. Also many thanks to bike law Attorney Rachael Maney for fighting for justice for Courtney.

In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to the Go Fund Me page set up by Lara Horst to get justice for Courtney.
