Larry S. Grothey

Seven Valleys - Larry S. Grothey, age 79, passed away at York Hospital on September 12, 2021. He was the loving husband of Hilda S. (Carlin) Grothey; together they shared over 22 years of marriage.

Larry was born in York on January 22, 1942 and was the son of the late Clair Grothey and Naomi (Wildasin) Grothey. He worked for Precision Components in York for many years prior to retiring and was also served as a PA Game Commission Deputy for many years. He was a lifetime loyal member of the Jefferson Sprotsman Club, a member of the Motor Menders Car Club, St. Paul Zeigler's Lutheran Church in Seven Valleys and was a PA Game Commission Hunter Educational Instructor for over 50 years. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, especially at his cabin and he enjoyed fishing on the bay. He also had a passion for Car Shows and Street Rods.

In addition to his wife Hilda, he is survived by his children Beverly Napier and her husband Samuel, Robert Grothey and his wife Melissa, Mark Grothey and his wife Bonnie; his stepchildren Jamie Ronk and his wife Angela, Linda Ronk and her wife Elizabeth; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother James Grothey, his sister Connie Fackler and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Kenneth and Charles Grothey.

A funeral service in celebration of Larry's life will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove with Rev. Lawrence Cunnings officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul Zeigler's Church Cemetery. Viewings will be held on Thursday from 6:00PM – 8:00PM and on Friday from 9:00AM – 10:00AM at the funeral home.

Due to COVID19, the family kindly requests for guests to wear masks if you plan to attend the viewing or funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry's memory may be made to St. Paul Zeigler's Church, 4258 Zeigler's Church Rd, Seven Valleys, PA 17360.
