Pastor Boone was born on May 29, 1959, in Hanover, PA, a son of the late James M. Boone, Jr. and Eleanor R. (Formwalt) Boone. On May 9, 1981, Pastor Boone married the love of his life, Wanda (Foltz) Boone. They were blessed to share over 40 years of a beautiful marriage.

He was a 1977 graduate of Shippensburg Area Senior High School. He was formerly a Pastorial Assistant at Christ United Methodist Church of the York District. Pastor Boone was currently serving as a local licensed pastor in the Lewisburg District of the United Methodist Church, Susquehanna Conference for the Mt. Pleasant Mills Charge that included Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Aline United Methodist Church, and Daniel's/St. Thomas United Methodist Church. He worked in the hunting and fishing industry for over 40 years. He trained dogs and taught hunter safety education courses.

His greatest passion and enjoyment was serving Our Lord and the time he shared creating precious memories with his family, friends, and members of his congregations. Pastor Boone's hobbies were planting flowers, fishing for rainbow trout, pheasant and deer hunting, and his passion for training dogs. Mike has left us with many amazing memories, from field to faith. We are all "better than we deserve" because of Jesus.

He was a member of Izaak Walton League of America, York Chapter No. 67, Pheasants Forever, and the NRA.

Pastor Boone is survived by his "Precious" wife, Wanda; "Sweet Pea" daughter, Heather R. (Boone) Seidenstricker and her husband, Wade M. Seidenstricker of Columbus, OH; "Beautiful" granddaughter, Baylee K. Seidenstricker; brother, Gregory S. Boone of Gettysburg; sister, Pamela L. (Boone) Zeigler and her fiance', Andy L. Horn of Orrstown; nephews, Derek B. Boone, Ryan M. Boone, and Kenneth N. M. Zeigler and his wife, Erin; great nieces; a great nephew; and his Labrador furbabies, Hershey and Ivory.

In addition to his parents, Pastor Boone is preceded in death by his stepmother, Sylvia J. (Arnold) Boone; a stillborn son; and two brothers, James W. Boone and John M. Boone.

When asked how he was doing, he would reply "Better than I deserve".
