York Professional Baseball Club LLC now owns and operates sports radio station WOYK AM 1350.

The baseball company announced Monday that it purchased the station from WOYK Inc., the station's previous licensee. The companies announced in Jan. 14 that they reached a purchase agreement.

The transfer process started at that time, according to York Professional Baseball, which also owns and operates the York Revolution baseball team.

Darrell Henry, the Revolution's play-by-play broadcaster, has been named the station's new general manager.

Several new features have been added to the station's lineup.

Beginning in the spring, WOYK will become an affiliate of the Hershey Bears Radio Network. While the partnership will enter its first full season in the fall, WOYK will air the remainder of the Bears current season. The first is set for Wednesday, April 2, with the Bears at Portland.

In the fall, WOYK - now in its 82nd year -will debut a weekly talk show focused on York College's Spartan athletic programs. The station has been broadcasting the college's basketball games for the 10 seasons.

A weekly York Revolution Hot Stove talk show will debut on the station next winter during the baseball off-season. The show will detail news about signings, the Revolution and the entire Atlantic League leading up to the start of the next baseball season.

Additional programs will be announced at later dates.
