Things were back to normal on Thursday night.

A day after York Revolution manager Andy Etchebarren and two Revs' pitchers were ejected Wednesday, no one got tossed Thursday night. And there were no arguments with the umpires.

Perhaps the most telling sign of normalcy? With Chris Cody getting the start on the mound for the Revs, his team struggled to plate runs until late in the game. That has been a common theme for the Revs' offense in Cody's starts this season.

innings, striking out two and walking two. The performance helped York capture a 7-1 win over the Bluefish to avoid a series sweep in front of 4,129 fans at Sovereign Bank Stadium.

"He got his command," Etchebarren said of Cody in the final four innings. "He was getting his change-up over, his curveball over and his breaking ball over. He was spotting his fastball. He couldn't do that earlier."

Cody (6-11) said the rough start could be attributed to establishing a relationship with catcher Salomon Manriquez.

"It was my first time throwing to Manny (Manriquez). He and I figured ourselves out pretty quick," Cody said. "There was a lot of shaking off early on. Then I settled in nicely and he and I worked together fine the rest of the game."

The Bluefish (41-48 overall, 10-9 second half) got their lone run in the top of the first inning when Kennard Jones scored from third on a wild pitch. York (46-44, 10-10) got two back in the bottom of the frame on Ramon Castro's RBI groundout followed by a solo homer from Andres Perez, who finished a triple short of the cycle.

Cody pitched with the one-run lead the next five innings until the Revs tacked on two runs in the sixth and four runs in the seventh. The Revs' offense has enjoyed a turnaround in the left-hander's last three starts. York averaged 3.6 runs a game in Cody's first 16 starts of the year, but have now scored seven runs apiece in his last three starts to bump up his run support to 4.2 runs per game.

"I just try not to let it bother me," Cody said of the run support. "Even when it's a close game or low-scoring game, I have to go out there no matter what the score is. It is what it is."

The lefty now leads the club with nine quality starts (allowing no more than three runs in at least six innings pitched) this year. He had eight all of last season for the Revs.

Game notes: A night after umpire Matt Beaver ejected Etchebarren and Revs' reliever Yunior Novoa, Beaver was not part of the umpiring crew Thursday. ... York has won six of its last nine games while holding opponents to two runs or less in each of those six wins. ... York outfielder Scott Grimes was in uniform Thursday after missing Wednesday's game for a family emergency.

Next game: York will next host Southern Maryland in a three-game series starting Friday. Revs' lefty Ryan Feierabend (3-2, 2.96 ERA) will face left-hander Hunter Jones (1-3, 5.31). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
