The York College men's lacrosse team concluded its home campaign with an 11-4 Capital Athletic Conference win over Frostburg State University on Wednesday.
The Spartans improved to 11-3, which ties the school record for victories in a season. That is a mark set by the 2006 Spartan squad. The Green and White also finished the regular season undefeated at home at 8-0. It is the first time in school history that the Spartans finished unbeaten at Kinsley Field. The Bobcats fell to 8-5 overall and 0-3 in the league. The win lifts the Spartans to 3-1 in the CAC.
The Spartans were led by sophomore Tyler Hutson, who had three goals and an assist. With his four points, Hutson moved into fifth place on the all-time YCP scoring list. Hutson now has 130 points for his career. He also has 97 goals, which leaves him three tallies short of becoming the fourth Spartan to score 100 career goals. Junior James Lowe added a pair of goals and an assist, while Chris Varela had two goals for York.
Freshman goalie Caleb Abney recorded 17 stops in his 60 minutes in net.
