It was a tough day for York College athletics on Thursday afternoon.

The baseball team lost to Randolph Macon, 9-2, while the softball team was swept in a doubleheader by Eastern Mennonite, 8-6 and 5-4.

The York softball team dropped to 4-14 overall, while Eastern Mennonite improved to 14-6. The Spartan baseball team fell to 7-10. Randolph Macon improved to 10-9.

In the softball twinbill, Sarah Harris finished with four hits and two RBIs for York, while Payton Hill had four hits, two RBIs and a run scored. York's Sara Thacker pitched well in relief in the second game, allowing just one run over five innings.

In the baseball game, the Yorkers were led by Dustin Worthman (two hits, RBI), Drew Frankenfield (two hits) and Nic Long (two hits). Matt Goodman and Andrew Tucci combined for three scoreless innings in relief.
