The York College baseball team lost the third game of its Capital Athletic Conference weekend series against Wesley on Sunday, dropping a 5-1 decision at Jaquet Field in York.
The Wolverines captured two of three during the weekend. The Spartans fell to 7-9 overall and 1-5 in the CAC. The Wolverines improved to 13-5 overall and 4-2 in the league.
Brad Wenzel suffered the loss. The junior went 51/3 innings, allowing five runs, three earned, on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts. He fell to 2-1.
Colbe Herr paced the York offense with three hits while Dallastown High School graduate Derek Pitzer finished 2-for-3 with the Spartans' lone RBI.
The Spartans are slated to return to Jaquet Field on Tuesday afternoon when they host Randolph-Macon in a non-conference contest. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
Postponements: Monday's York College home golf tournament at the Out Door Country Club has been postponed because of the impending winter storm. The make-up date for the tournament has not been determined. The Spartans are slated to return to action on Monday, April 1, at the Lebanon Valley Invitational.
York College's non-conference softball doubleheader vs. Misericordia in Dallas on Sunday was also postponed. No rescheduled date was set.
