York College freshman goalie Caleb Abney has earned the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Co-Defensive Player of the Week Award.

The honor was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Abney excelled in his first collegiate start in the Spartans' 9-7 win at McDaniel on Saturday. He allowed three first-quarter goals but bounced back to stifle the Green Terror the rest of the game. Abney, who made eight saves in the decisive third quarter, finished the game with 19 saves in his 60 minutes of action.
