The York College men's lacrosse team downed the Scranton Royals 17-4 in non-conference action at Kinsley Field on Wednesday.

The Spartans improved to 2-0 while the Royals fell to 1-1.

Tyler Hutson remained red hot to start the season for York. He poured in five more goals to match his career-high, which he tied in Saturday's season-opening win. Tyler Davis, Corey Cooke and Dakota Randall each had three points on two goals and an assist, while James Lowe had three points on two assists and one goal. Blake Bing and Chris Varela each banged home two goals for York, while Varela also had three ground balls.

Daniel Schuck went 13-for-23 at the faceoff, while he also had three ground balls. Midfielder Seth Krolus garnered a team-high five ground balls for York.

Freshman Christian Koch made the start in goal for the Spartans. In his college debut, he registered six saves in just more than 52 minutes of action. He allowed the four Scranton goals.

The Spartans finished the game with a 41-23 margin in total shots, while they also held a 26-20 advantage in ground balls. The Spartans were a perfect 18-for-18 on the clear while they had just 11 turnovers in the win.
