York College junior forward Brittany Hicks was named the Spartan Athlete of the Week for the second straight week.

Hicks, a York Catholic grad, led the Spartans to a third seed in the upcoming Capital Athletic Conference tournament with an outstanding individual performance last week.

Hicks began her week with a career-high 32 points and 12 rebounds in the mid-week contest at Mary Washington. She was a blistering 11-for-14 from the field and 9-for-10 from the free-throw line. The 32 points tied Salisbury's Anna Hackett for the best single-game scoring performance in the conference this season.

Hicks then recorded her conference-leading 15th double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds in the season finale win over Frostburg State on Saturday. She was 5-for-10 from the floor and 10-for-14 from the free-throw line.

For the week, Hicks averaged 26 points and 14 rebounds per game as she shot 66.7 percent from the field and 79.2 percent from the charity stripe.

The Spartans (19-6 overall, 8-4 CAC) begin CAC tournament play Tuesday night at home at 7 p.m. against Frostburg State (6-19, 2-10).
