Freshman Eli Bjerk and junior Austin Johnson each scored twice to lift the York College men's soccer team to a 6-2 non-conference win at Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday.

The Spartans, who are ranked No. 14 in NCAA Division III, improved to 9-2-1 overall. The Lions fell to 6-5.

James Garrison and Daniel Baxter also scored for York. Baxter also added an assist. Brendan Saberton added two assists for the Spartans.

Senior Jesse Derksen, a Susquehannock High School graduate, recorded the win in goal, notching two saves.

The six goals for the Spartans was a season high.

York returns home on Saturday to face Marymount University in a Capital Athletic Conference contest at 3 p.m.

SPARTANS DROP 3-2 VOLLEYBALL DECISION: The York College women's volleyball team lost 3-2 vs. Capital Athletic Conference foe Marymount Wednesday at Wolf Gym. The gamed was a "Dig Pink" night. The Spartans sported pink gear and raised money to bring attention to breast cancer awareness month. The team has raised $1,600 so far and will continue their efforts until the end of October. The Spartans fell to 5-20 overall and 1-3 in the CAC. The Saints are 18-6 overall and 2-0. The match scores were 17-25, 25-17, 23-25, 25-19, 15-11. York Sophomore Katie Huston finished with 14 kills and zero errors for an attacking percentage of .438. York freshman Allie Donahue added 42 assists and 16 digs. York senior Ashley Rineman had 21 digs.
