Juniors Leah Schultz, Kim Wayson and Katie Vautier led the York College women's lacrosse team to an 8-7 triumph over Stevens Tech on Tuesday evening in Hoboken, N.J., in a battle of nationally-ranked NCAA Division III teams.

York came in ranked No. 13, while Stevens Tech came in at No. 17.

Schultz and Wayson each netted three goals, including the game-tying and game-winning tallies, while Vautier posted a trio of caused turnovers, to help push the Spartans to 12-3 on the season, just one win shy of their all-time wins record of 13 set last season.

Facing a 7-6 deficit with less than two minutes left in the contest, Schulz knotted the game with just 1:57 remained on the clock. The ensuing draw control went the Ducks' way. However, Vautier caused a turnover and snagged the ground ball, giving her squad a chance to take the lead.

With just 36 seconds remaining, York's all-time leader in goals came through with the 162nd tally of her career. Wayson netted what would prove to be the game-winner.

Stevens Tech fell to 7-4.

York's triumph marked its third win over a ranked squad this season. The Spartans also bested Stevenson (No. 19) and Mary Washington (No. 13).

For the contest, the Spartans outshot their hosts 24-12.

In addition to her three goals, Wayson also provided a trio of assists giving her 52 for her career. York's previous career record was 45, a mark Wayson broke earlier this season. Schultz corralled five draw controls, while Vautier added four ground balls to her trio of caused turnovers.

Kelsey Evans recorded the victory in the Spartan cage, posting three saves.
