The Original Semi-Annual 161st York Antiques Show and Sale takes over Memorial Hall at the York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave., for three days of 18th and 19th century finds. The show features furniture, rugs, porcelain, glassware, jewelry, toys and more from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 30-31, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1. Author Kathleen Danielczyk of Hershey will sign copies of her novel, "Summer of Gold and Water," from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at Irvin's Books, 2159 White St., West Manchester Township. The Grand Prix of Baltimore returns for a Labor Day weekend full of fast cars, filling food and live music in downtown Baltimore. Several qualifying runs and races will take place Friday, Aug. 30, through Sunday, Sept. 1. York's own Live will give a concert at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31. General admission: $5-$65. York County Parks will host a free Labor Day scavenger hunt from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at Nixon County Park, 5922 Nixon Drive, Springfield Township. Prizes will be awarded to teams and individuals who answer questions and collect natural items in the set amount of time. The Wellsville Frontier Days Labor Day Rodeo gates open to spectators at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2, across from the fire company, 75 Carroll St. in the borough. Regional favorite HogMaw will open for Cabinet, a six-piece Pennsylvania bluegrass band, Saturday, Aug. 31, at The Depot, 360 W. Cottage Place, York. WEEKEND SPORTS

The local high school football season gets started on Friday night. The highlight game on opening night is Central York at West York at 7 p.m. That is one of 14 games involving York-Adams League teams on Friday. There are three more games set for Saturday. The Tom Kerrigan Memorial (Colonial York) Tournament is set for this weekend at various sites throughout York County. The 24-team event starts Saturday, Aug. 31, and concludes with the finals at noon Monday, Sept. 2, at Mount Wolf. Six York County teams are in the field: Hallam, Manchester, East Prospect, Jefferson, Stoverstown and the York Stars.
