There's always some piece of memorabilia for that sports fan who has almost everything.

Especially when that fan's favorite team is vying for the league title.

There's a Baltimore Ravens version of the classic game Connect Four, a toaster that will leave the Ravens logo on a piece of toast and food containers that have either the Ravens or San Francisco 49ers logo.

And fans are scooping up such items in preparation for the Super Bowl next Sunday.

Paul Leonard and Lynne Garrett, both of York City, looked over some of the Ravens merchandise at Bleacher Bums in the York Galleria mall on Thursday.

"Oh, look. They found a few things that are 49ers," Garrett jokingly said.

In the end, the couple bought a few Ravens items for their upcoming Super Bowl party.

Their haul included a Ravens drinking straw holder that dispenses gold straws and a chip dish, also with a Ravens logo.

Something new: They also left with a Ravens hat with long strands of fake hair attached to it for Leonard, a diehard Baltimore fan.

Garrett, an Indianapolis Colts fan, tried on one of the hats but decided against it.

"I will never hear the end of this," she said.

Since the AFC and NFC championship games on Sunday decided which teams will advance to the Super Bowl, fans have been out in force buying merchandise in an effort to cheer on their favorite, said Steve Dwyer, owner of Bleacher Bums.

"When you have a local team, it really helps," Dwyer said.

The Ravens will take on the 49ers in New Orleans on Feb. 3, and some fans want something new to wear while watching the big game.

"They all want apparel they can wear to a (Super Bowl) party," Dwyer said.

Ravens rule: The sale of Ravens and 49ers gear has increased at the nearby Shenk & Tittle, said regional manager Nick Shedlock.

But Ravens fans far outweigh their 49er counterparts.

At Shenk & Tittle, Ravens gear has been outselling 49ers merchandise at a rate of 10 to 1, Shedlock said.

Ravens gear has been flying off the shelves and racks at Bleacher Bums at a rate of 28 to 1 compared to 49ers merchandise.

"It's hands down Ravens. That's the more popular one," Shedlock said. "It's going quickly. We're getting re-stocks on a daily basis."

The Super Bowl will be the last game for retiring Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, and despite his brushes with the law, fans are still seeking out and buying jerseys and clothing that bear his name, said Shedlock.

While the Ravens are the heavy favorites in the area, some fans will be rooting for the team from the West Coast.

"There's still a lot of 49ers fans in the area," he said.
