OPENINGS AND EXTRAS


The annual Bike Week tradition grows even bigger this year, with events from Thursday, Sept. 27, through Sunday, Sept. 30, at locations throughout York County. The free parade through Continental Square goes from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. The open house at the Harley-Davidson plant off Route 30 in Springettsbury Township features demo rides, factory tours, live music and more from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The third annual Roosterpalooza music festival features more than a dozen bands from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Elicker's Grove Park in the Spring Grove area. Bring lawn chairs and coolers and spend the day enjoying live music, children's activities, horseshoes, craft and food vendors, and more. Proceeds benefit Bell Socialization Services. Springettsbury Township's annual Saturday in the Park features family-friendly fun from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the township park, 1501 Mount Zion Road. Explore the natural world during Rock and Mineral Weekend at Nixon County Park, 5922 Nixon Drive, Springfield Township. The fossil and sand pits, history timeline walk, children's activities and more will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30. The 12th annual Pennsylvania Sweetpotato Festival celebrates the root vegetable's variety and versatility in cooking from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at The Wellness Farm, 19310 Dutton Road, Shrewsbury Township. The family-friendly fun includes food, arts and crafts, live music, children's activities, and the chance to dig your own sweet potatoes. Brogue celebrates the season with Autumn Fest in the Barn from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at 109 Muddy Creek Forks Road. WEEKEND SPORTS


The York Revolution and the Lancaster Barnstormers will continue their Atlantic League Freedom Division playoff series this weekend at Sovereign Bank Stadium in York. Game 3 will be 6:30 p.m. Friday, while Game 4, if needed, will be 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Game 5, if needed, is set for 1 p.m. Sunday.
