I was very saddened to read the article about the Fitz Brothers' Farm closing their Eastern Market stand.
Whenever we expect company, one of my goals has been to purchase the excellent produce that not only Fitz has sold, but also that of several other local farms in the area that offer superb vegetables and fruits at their stands at market and at their farms. I find this decision even sadder because of the move to buy locally.
But the Fitz brothers and their families need to make a living, and I am glad they plan to continue farming, albeit growing what must be more lucrativecrops.
I wish them all the best of luck with this change.
