I am not a member of the Tea Party but am in favor of electing some new faces to our state Legislature.

Bob Wilson, head of the York County Republican Party, thinks that those of us who want change in Harrisburg are "misguided," ill-informed and don't understand the process upon which legislation gets done and that we are on the very fringe and want to bring down the Republican Party.

My representative is Stan Saylor, a 20-year incumbent career politician who is asking for another term because "we have lots to do yet." In my view, after 20 years, if you haven't accomplished your goals, it's time for a change. What would happen in the private sector if one had such a record?

Kelly Henshaw is a candidate who, if elected, will not accept the pension, pay raises and perks that so many of our incumbent legislators have created for themselves. I suggest we voters support candidates who won't become career politicians and want to represent their fellow citizens in public service as it was originally intended.

If that makes me "misguided," I proudly wear this moniker.
