Larry Hicks sure is a brave man.

I was glad to read that he isn't much threatened by anything. That, my friends, is "one tough guy." He doesn't seem to realize that people not in their homes are killed by fists every day.

No one knows the whole story on the Florida tragedy. Larry joins the mob in prejudging the neighborhood watch member. What if the mob is wrong?

Whether Zimmerman acted improperly or whether he was punched in the face and had his head banged on the sidewalk, as he stated, should be determined by the investigation. Don't prejudge and don't blame a law.

There are reports of news being slanted and the 911 recording being edited by some networks to sensationalize an already tragic incident. If this is so, which would be nothing new, their yellow journalism is fanning the flames of hate. Reporters should check that out.

Mob mentality knows no bounds and is exacerbated by unconscionable actions of trashy media. I want someone with enough intelligence and mental stability that I don't have to worry about them going off half-cocked or reacting out of fear when it's not warranted. (I borrowed that sentence from Larry's column). Yes, I want to get my news from someone like that.

I agree with Larry about hooded sweatshirts. They are great but don't walk into some of our local banks with your hood up. What? You missed the sign that says, "Remove hoods and sunglasses"? It looks like bank managers have a certain opinion about people who wear hoodies. I would like to know Larry's thoughts on that one.
