York City officials are considering new ways to deal with violent crime, including a three-year, $300,000 "group violence intervention" program being used in other cities across the country.
York has been wracked by violence, particularly shootings.
Over the course one recent day — June 9 — eight people were reported shot in five incidents around town. Last December, the city saw 17 shootings, including 10 in as many days.
