Susquehannock and York Catholic won't face terribly long trips for their PIAA state girls' basketball semifinal games on Tuesday.

In fact, both teams will play at sites within District 3.

The District 3 Class 5-A champion Warriors (26-4) will take on District 12 champion Archbishop Wood (22-7) at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Gov. Mifflin Intermediate School in Shillington. That game was originally scheduled Monday morning for the Spartan Center at Milton Hershey High School, but the PIAA changed the site on Monday afternoon. Wood is from Philadelphia. Both teams will have a trip of between 60-65 miles.

The powerhouse Vikings are ranked No. 1 in the state in 5-A by @pagirlshoops and won the 3-A state title in 2016. They play a national schedule and their only loss to a Pennsylvania team came to Cardinal O'Hara, 35-30, back on Feb. 27 in the Philadelphia Catholic League title game. Susquehannock is ranked No. 5 in the state in 5-A.

The District 3 Class 3-A champion Lady Irish (23-6) will battle another District 12 champion in Neumann-Goretti (23-5) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Garden Spot High School in New Holland. The Lady Irish face a bus trip of about 45 miles, while N-G will travel about 60 miles.

Neumann-Goretti has many similarities to Wood. N-G is a Philadelphia school that plays a national schedule, is ranked No. 1 in the state in its class and has won the past two PIAA 2-A championships. York Catholic ranked No. 9 in 3-A.
