York High graduate Kelvin Parker has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
The 6-foot, 3-inch Millersville University junior averaged 27.0 points per game last week for the Marauders.
Parker helped Millersville clinch a PSAC Tournament berth with two key wins. Parker hit 51.9 percent of his shots from the field, 9-of-18 (50 percent) from 3-point range and 17-of-18 from the foul line (94 percent).
In his career-high 28-point performance against Mansfield, he scored 16 of Millersville's final 18 points and hit eight straight free throws down the stretch to clinch the 65-62 victory. At Kutztown, Parker scored 26 points while hitting 4-of-8 3-pointers and all eight free throws. He also totaled three steals, four rebounds and a pair of assists. Parker has now scored 20-plus points in five of his last six games.
Since Jan. 25, Parker has averaged 23.0 points per game while shooting 49.4 percent from the field, 48.0 percent from 3-point range and 84.8 percent from the line.
For the season, Parker is averaging 19.4 points per game.
Millersville is 11-11 overall and 7-6 in PSAC action.
