York High graduate Aignee Freeland has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women's Basketball West Division Athlete of the Week.
Freeland is a sophomore at Edinboro University.
She posted a double-double in back-to-back games, registering 19 points and 11 rebounds in a 66-59 win over Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She followed that with 28 points and 12 rebounds in an 85-67 win over Clarion. The forward went 19-of-29 from the floor (66 percent), while also sinking 9-of-11 from the charity stripe (82 percent). For the week, she also totaled five blocks, three assists and three steals.
For the season, the 6-foot, 3-inch Freeland is averaging 14.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for Edinboro, which is 14-3 overall and 8-0 in the PSAC.
