Eastern York High School graduate Austin Tillotson has been named the Patriot League Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Tillotson is a 6-foot sophomore guard for Colgate. He started his career at Monmouth but transferred to Colgate after his freshman year. Under NCAA transfer rules, he had to sit out last season.
He helped Colgate to two wins last week, averaging 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He started with a relatively modest 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting while also adding five rebounds and four assists in a 98-86 win at Tulane on Tuesday. Tillotson followed it up with a perfect shooting game, going 9-of-9 from the field, 4-of-4 from 3-point range and 3-of-3 at the foul line in a 93-64 victory at Binghamton on Sunday. Tillotson became just Colgate's fourth player to ever make as many as four 3-pointers without a miss. Tillotson is directing a Colgate offense that leads the nation in 3-pointers per game and 3-point field-goal percentage.
For the season, Tillotson is averaging 13.5 points and 5.3 assists per game while leading the Patriot League and ranking in the top 20 in NCAA Division I in field-goal percentage (66.0) and assist-to-turnover ratio (4-1).
