York County Youth Baseball
0The York County 14-16 Youth Baseball League will hold two meetings, both at the Dallastown Cougar Building: The first meeting will be on Sunday, April 7, at 6 p.m., and will discuss league setup, bat policy, estimated scheduling and dates, budget, tentative team counts and division requested, plus general questions. The second and final meeting will be held on Sunday, April 21, at 6 p.m., and discuss entrance fee due, team rosters due, and final team determination numbers and divisions. Briarwood Golf Club will hold clinics for beginners and intermediate players, or as a refresher, beginning Monday, April 8, and Tuesday, April 9. Classes meet two times per week (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday) for two weeks from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. PGA teaching staff will provide six hours of instruction. A free nine-hole round of golf with cart accompanies registration. Equipment is provided if needed. Classes will be held at the Briarwood driving range. The cost is $85 per person. Briarwood Golf Leagues
Briarwood Golf Club will hold the following leagues this spring: two person leagues on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and a Friday Evening Scramble League with a separate couples division. All leagues have a 5:30 p.m. shotgun start. The weekday evening leagues start Monday, April 1, and the Friday Evening League starts on Friday, April 5. York YMCA Programs
Registrations are now being accepted for several York YMCA programs, including: a girls intramural volleyball program for ages 9-10, beginning April 8; girls volleyball camps for ages 11-14 during the week of June 17, and for ages 9-10 during the week of June 24; gymnastics camps in multiple weeks during the summer for ages 8-14; and baseball camps presented by the York YMCA and the York Revolution in multiple weeks during the summer for ages 8-15. Central Junior Legion
The Central Junior Legion will have tryouts on March 23 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Cousler 4, with a rain date of March 24. The second tryout will be held on April 6 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Cousler 4, with a rain date April 7. The tryouts are open to all Central York School District baseball players who are age 15 or younger as of May 1. There will be concurrent tryouts for the York County Baseball League. Dallastown American Legion
Sign-ups for the Dallastown American Legion Senior Baseball will take place on Sunday, April 6, at Shryock Field in Spry. Players, ages 15-19 as of May 1 of this year and living in the Dallastown Area School District, are eligible to register. Registration will begin at 2 p.m., and a parent or guardian must accompany each prospective player. The tryouts will take place in May on consecutive Saturdays and Sundays for three weeks. Dallastown Junior American Legion
The tryouts for Dallastown American Legion Junior Baseball are scheduled for Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6, at Shryock Field. The times are 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Players should bring their own equipment and have sneakers and baseball spikes available for the tryout. Players, ages 13-15, living in the Dallastown Area School District, are eligible to participate. A parent or guardian must accompany each prospective player.
