Penn State has picked up its 13th verbal commitment for its 2013 football recruiting class.

Defensive lineman Parker Cothren from Hazel Green, Ala., has committed to the Nittany Lions.

The 6-foot, 5-inch, 265-pounder had previously committed to Purdue.

He also had offers from Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee, South Alabama, Troy, Tulane and Western Kentucky.

Cothren is rated a three-star recruit, on a five-star scale, by Rivals.com and a two-star recruit by Scout.com.
