The York Suburban girls' volleyball team remained firmly entrenched in first place in York-Adams Division II on Monday night.

But the Trojans' victory over Kennard-Dale did not come easily.

In fact, the Rams put up quite a fight on their home court in Fawn Grove, before dropping a 25-23, 24-26, 25-16, 20-25, 15-7 decision.

Suburban improved to 8-1 in division action, while K-D fell to 2-6. The Trojans hold a two-game lead over second-place Eastern York (6-3).

Kayla Gibbs led the Trojans with 13 kills and 17 digs. Luci Billet had 16 kills, 20 digs and three aces, while Alexis Gettle had 40 assists, 10 digs and four kills and Morgan Lehman had 12 kills and seven digs.

For the Rams, Marlaina McConville had 17 digs, six kills, three blocks and three aces, while Sara Tarbert had 10 kills and 12 blocks and Jess Myers had 15 kills and seven blocks.

Suburban won the JV match, 25-17, 25-23.

OTHER GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL

LITTLESTOWN 3, YORK HIGH 0: At Littlestown, the Thunderbolts won the non-divisional match, 25-10, 25-15, 25-23. Lauren Slater led the home team with 22 assists, six digs and six aces. Taylor Nicol had 10 kills and three aces, while Alicia Mosebrook had six kills and five aces. For the Bearcats, Anastacia Howard had three blocks, while Jasmine Berry had five digs and Leonna Elliot had five digs. Littlestown won the JV match, 25-15, 25-10.
