The York County School of Technology had its $24.5 million budget passed by all of its member districts.

The $24.5 million mark represents a 1.7 percent increase in the contribution rate per participating district, said business manager Jon Boyer.

The York Township-based vocational high school doesn't have taxing authority, so it mostly relies on its 14 participating districts -- every district in York County except Northern and West Shore -- to fund it.

York Tech expects to have about 1,560 students in the fall, about 40 more than this year.

York City has by far the most students enrolled, with more than 450 students projected to be enrolled in the fall.

Next year's budget has no major changes or new programs. The increase is mostly due to salary and benefit increases, Boyer said.

York Tech needs at least 10 member districts to approve its budget. That was no problem for the 2012-13 budget, a contrast to the more contentious voting for this year's budget.

Only 10 districts ended up approving the 2011-12 budget, with dissenting boards at Eastern, Dover, Dallastown and Central saying the 1.8 percent contribution increase was too high.
