On Tuesday, July 3, the first 1,500 fans through the gate at Sovereign Bank Stadium will receive a John Kuhn bobble head doll.

The York Revolution will play the Somerset Patriots that evening, with the game time at 6:30 p.m. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m.

Kuhn is a former Dover High School football standout who later went on to star at Shippensburg University. He is now a Pro Bowl fullback with the Green Bay Packers. Kuhn won a Super Bowl championship with the Packers in 2011.

On July 13, 2011, Kuhn threw out the first pitch at the Atlantic League All-Star Game in York. He was wearing a Freedom Division All-Star jersey. Kuhn's commemorative bobble head doll will depict him as he looked that night, throwing out the first pitch.

It was originally announced on Wednesday that Kuhn would attend the July 3 game, but the Revs received word later Wednesday that Kuhn would not be able to make it back to York for the event. The Revs said there was a sudden complication in Kuhn's schedule.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, John Kuhn had to cancel his appearance on his bobble head night," Kuhn's agent, Kevin Gold, said. "John enjoyed his experience throwing out the first pitch at last year's All-Star Game and appreciates all of the support from his hometown fans. John hopes to be able to come back to town as soon as possible."

Kuhn is entering his sixth season with the Packers, and was an integral part of their 2010 Super Bowl championship team. It was the second Super Bowl ring for Kuhn. He also picked one up as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad in 2006.
