The York College men's lacrosse team saw its 2012 campaign come to a close on Wednesday, falling 19-6 to powerhouse Salisbury in the semifinal round of the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Tournament.

The loss ended the Spartan season at 9-7, while the undefeated Sea Gulls moved on to the league championship game sporting an 18-0 record. Salisbury is ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division III.

York B.J. Blaker scored twice and finished the year with 24 goals and eight assists. He sits fourth on York's all-time goals list with 91, fifth in points with 125 and eighth in assists with 34. The senior also finished his career after starting the most games of any Spartan, having been in the starting lineup 57 times over his 62 games. Those 62 contests ties him with former standout Josh Gamble for first all-time in games played.

Defensively, senior goalkeeper Tyler Powell registered six saves over his 32:08, while Dylan Heath made four stops.

SOFTBALL TEAM SWEEPS WASHINGTON: The York College softball team bounced back into action on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon in York, celebrating Senior Day with two wins against the Shorewomen of Washington College, 4-3 and 7-2 respectively. Senior pitcher Brittany Therres proved key in the Spartans' doubleheader triumph as York improved to 13-21 overall, while the Shorewomen fell to 18-17. Therres got both wins to improve to 12-13 on the season. She pitched 131/3 total innings and allowed just four earned runs. She also finished the twinbill with six hits. Cara Rubinaccio also had two hits in each game for York.
