The York College men's rugby club closed out its regular season by taking first place at the Philly Cup.

The Yorkers won the Open Division by outscoring its foes, 120-3.

The Spartans compiled a 9-2-1 record over the spring season, outscoring opponents, 300-80.

York shut out LaSalle, and the University of Pittsburgh to move into the finals against Plymouth College, the 2008 Division III national champions. The Spartans won 35-3 to take home the title.

Senior scrum half David Wilkes was named tournament MVP.

GREEN HONORED BY CAC: York College freshman defender Allison Green was selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week. Green contributed to the Spartans' 12-7 CAC win over St. Mary's (Md.) on Tuesday, with one assist, four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Green and the York defense only allowed 16 shots over the 60 minutes of action. For the season Green has nine goals and seven assists for a total of 16 points. She has also picked up 11 ground balls and caused seven turnovers.
