The elements again played a big part in the weekend racing schedule.

Sunday's All Star program at Clinton County was postponed on Saturday evening because of predictions for freezing temperatures in the Lock Haven area Sunday evening.

On Saturday, Williams Grove, Selinsgrove, Susquehanna and Trailway all postponed early because of predicted rain. The URC 360 sprints also lost their season-opener in Delaware Saturday to rain. Hagerstown managed to get to the consolation races before rain ended the evening. Lincoln was able to race, but started three hours late because of an early evening rain shower. Port Royal also completed its Saturday program, but the sidewinder 1,000cc micro sprints were dropped from the program before the event started in hopes of getting the show in the books before rain hit.

DIRT-TRACK RESULTS

THOMASVILLE'S HOD NETT WINS AT PORT ROYAL: Thomasville's Greg Hodnett raced to his sixth overall win of the season in Saturday's All Star sprint feature at Port Royal.

Hodnett's convincing win in the Bob Weikert Memorial race was worth $12,900 with lap money.

Hodnett started second, and took the lead from pole-sitter David Gravel on the second of 30 laps. He drove away from the field for his third Port Royal win of the season. Danny Holtgraver finished second, with Gravel third. Sam Hafertepe Jr. and Paul McMahon completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Daryn Pittman, Dale Blaney, Aaron Ott, Mark Smith and Fred Rahmer.

John Heane won the pro-stock feature.

BILLY DIETRICH SHINES AT LINCOLN: Billy Dietrich raced to his first career sprint-car win at Lincoln Saturday evening.

Dietrich, a nine-time 358 sprint winner at Lincoln, collected $3,200 for his win in the 25-lap race.

Dietrich started sixth and took the lead when Chad Criswell dropped from the top spot with mechanical problems on the 11th lap. Dietrich then had to withstand the advances of his younger brother, Danny Dietrich, in the closing stages of the event. Alan Krimes slipped by Danny Dietrich on the final lap to claim second, with Danny Dietrich in third. Brian Leppo and Kevin Nouse completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Brent Marks, John Rudisill, Frank Cozze, Jim Siegel and Brad McClelland.

Scott Fisher picked up his first win of the season in the 20-lap 358 sprint feature. Fisher started second and trailed pole-sitter Zach Eucalano of Spring Grove until Eucalano dropped from the event on the 12th lap with mechanical troubles. Fisher then had to withstand late-race pressure from promising rookie driver Tyler Ross and veteran Cris Eash of Hanover in the closing stages of the race. Ross finished second, followed by Eash, Nathan Berwager and Niki Young. Rounding out the top 10 were Ryan Wilson, Hanover's Jacob Allen, Manchester's Austin Hogue, Todd Rittenhouse Jr. and Dover's Tim Berkheimer.

Spring Grove's Chad Glatfelter scored his first Lincoln win in the thrilling Legends feature. Galtfelter used the race's sixth lead change on the 11th of 15 laps to take the top spot. Tim Henry finished second, with York's Bill Diehl, Jason Rochelle and Scott Houdeshell in the top five.

HANOVER DRIVER EXCELS AT GROVE: Hanover's Logan Schuchart used Friday's All Star sprint race at Williams Grove to score his first career sprint-car win.

The 19-year-old from Hanover collected $5,000 for his win in the 30-lap race.

Schuchart passed former Outlaw Paul McMahon for the lead on the third lap and then had to fend off Danny Dietrich for the victory. Donnie Kreitz Jr. finished third, with Hodnett and Pittman in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Stevie Smith, McMahon, Blaney, Tim Shaffer and Brian Montieth.

Brenden Bright led all 20 laps to win the ARDC Midget feature, but it wasn't easy for the youngster. Over the second half of the race, Bright had to fend off three serious challengers. Steve Buckwalter took second on the final lap, with Ryan Smith, who had made several bids for the lead, settling for third. Tim Buckwalter and Trevor Kobylarz completed the top five.

CUNNINGHAM FIRST AT TRAILWAY: J.B. Cunningham raced to his first career 358 sprint-car win Friday at Trailway.

Cunningham bested Hanover's Tim Wagaman for the victory in the 25-lap event. Hogue finished third, with McClelland and Keith Prutzman in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Wes Irwin, Mike Bittinger, Hanover's Joe Trone Jr., Eucalano and Jacob Allen.

Dover's Mike Goodwin won the Xtreme stock-car feature and Kyle Rohrbaugh was the limited-stock winner.
