Penn State football standouts Zach Zwinak and Deion Barnes have been named to the Watch Lists for the Maxwell and Chuck Bednarik Awards, respectively, presented by the Maxwell Football Club.
The Maxwell Award will be presented for the 77th time to the nation's college football player of the year. The Bednarik Award was established in 1995 and is presented to the nation's defensive player of the year.
Zwinak rushed for more than 1,000 yards last season. Barnes was selected the 2012 Big Ten Freshman of the Year. He was tied for No. 5 in the Big Ten in sacks (6.0) and was No. 14 with 10.0 tackles for loss.
