Eastern York remained in the thick of the York-Adams Division III softball race on Tuesday, but it wasn't easy.

The Golden Knights fell behind 15-8 after five innings vs. York Tech, but stormed back with a seven-run sixth inning to tie it up at 15-15. The game went to extra innings before Eastern used a six-run eighth to capture a wild 21-15 triumph in Spry.

The game featured 37 hits.

The Knights improved 7-6 overall and 7-2 in Division III. They trail first-place Kennard-Dale (7-0) by one game. The two teams will face off Thursday in Wrightsville. Tech fell to 0-12 overall and 0-9 in Division IV.

Lauren Reichard (three hits, double), Anna Arnsberger (three hits, double) and Mariah Miller (two hits, double) led Eastern's offense.

Tech was led by Cheyenne Fulcher (four hits, double), Angela Johnson (three hits, double) and Dani Aikins (two hits, double).

OTHER SOFTBALL

RED LION 8, SUSQUE HANNOCK 7: At Glen Rock, the Lions held on for the victory to improve to 11-2 overall and 7-2 in York-Adams Division I. Red Lion is tied with Central York for second place in the division, one game behind Dallastown (8-1). Red Lion will play host to Dallastown at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. Megan Chapman slugged a three-run homer for the Lions, while Katie Shultz pitched a complete game to get the win. Jordan McGee doubled for Susquehannock, which outhit Red Lion, 13-8.

GOV. MIFFLIN 11, WEST YORK 6: At Shillington, Daneen Walmer had three RBIs, including a suicide squeeze and a key two-run single in the sixth inning, and Kristen Goshert had four hits, including a double, to lead the Mustangs (5-8). West York fell to 3-9 overall.
