Sammy Miller pitched a three-hit shutout to lead Susquehannock to a 3-0 baseball victory over visiting Bermudian Springs on Monday afternoon.
Miller struck out seven and walked two. At the plate, he also had two hits, including a triple, with two runs scored.
Bryan Kerr added two hits for the winners, including a double, and drove in all three Warrior runs.
Clayton Hoff pitched a complete-game five-hitter in a losing cause. Alex Orwig had two of Bermudian's three hits.
Susquehannock improved to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in York-Adams Division III. The Warriors trail first-place Littlestown (5-0) by a game. Bermudian fell to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the division.
YORK CATHOLIC 5, BIGLERVILLE 2: At York, Matt McKim and Clint Bohn combined on a four-hitter for York Catholic. McKim went six innings, while Bohn pitched the final frame. Erich Hartman doubled and drove in three runs for the Fighting Irish, while Evan Urey tripled and scored a run. Mike Borth pitched a complete-game five-hitter for Biglerville, allowing three earned runs.
EASTERN YORK 7, YORK SUBURBAN 1: At Suburban, the Golden Knights exploded for six eighth-inning runs to break a 1-1 tie. Clayton Miller (two hits, homer, three RBIs, two runs scored), Dalton Renn (two hits, run scored) and Thomas Taylor (two hits, two RBIs) led the Eastern offense. Tanner Martin had two Suburban hits, while A.J. Hammond doubled. Terry Godfrey and Michael Dunn combined on a five-hitter on the mound for Eastern.
WEST YORK 11, DOVER 3: At West York, the Bulldogs had three innings of three or more runs in the win. Brandon Kinneman excelled at the plate (three hits, double, RBI) and on the mound (complete-game five-hitter, 10 strikeouts, one walk) for West York. Chase James (three hits, two RBIs), Logan Word (two hits, three RBIs) and Carson Fries (two hits, double, two RBIs) also excelled at the plate for the Bulldogs. Josh McMahon doubled for Dover. West York improved to 6-3 overall and 3-3 in York-Adams Division II.
SOUTH WESTERN 13, CENTRAL YORK 2: At Central, Parker Bean and Brandon Utz combined on a four-hitter. Bean struck out nine and walked one in six innings, while Bean struck out two without a walk in the seventh. Utz also belted a three-run homer at the plate. Bishop Elder also slugged a three-run homer for the Mustangs. Zane Knaub had three Central hits, including a double, and scored both of his teams' runs. Aaron Brown tripled for Central. Tyler Wagner struck out seven and walked one for Central. He held South Western to five hits and zero earned runs.
FAIRFIELD 9, YORK TECH 3: At Spry, Jared Slaybaugh led the Green Knights to their first victory of the season by pitching a complete game, striking out 15 and walking 10. Teammate Jordan Grimsley had two hits and two RBIs. For the Spartans, Matthew Rossi had two hits, including a double, while Hunter Weibley, Sam Brown and Argenis River each had two hits.
KENNARD-DALE 4, NORTHEASTERN 2: Northeastern tied it 2-2 in the fifth inning on a bases-loaded walk and an RBI single by Nick Yinger that scored Jesse Sargen. The Rams took the lead again the next inning when Dan Hare scored on an infield single by Mike Miller (2-for-4, run scored). K-D added another run in the seventh. Starting pitcher Matt Belt pitched all seven innings for the Rams to get the win. He also went 2-for-4 at the plate with one run scored.
