Central York captured a 5-2 non-league boys' tennis triumph over York Catholic on Wednesday afternoon at Springettsbury Park.

The Panthers received singles victories from Josh Strickler, Tyson Chen, Devin Lehigh and Chris Maderitz. Strickler and Chen also combined to win the No. 2 doubles match.

For the Irish, Adam Hack won the No. 1 singles match and combined with Matthew Koury to win the No. 1 doubles match.

Central York improved to 1-0, while York Catholic fell to 1-1.

OTHER BOYS' TENNIS

DALLASTOWN 7, YORK SUBURBAN 0: At Suburban, the Wildcats swept singles play, receiving victories from John Schmitt, Payce Berridge, Kyle Salaga, Nick Barley and Dalton Childs. In doubles, Salaga and Michael Gibbs combined to win the No. 1 match, while Barley and Childs combined to win the No. 2 match. Dallastown improved to 3-1.

DOVER 4, BERMUDIAN SPRINGS 3: At York Springs, Dover earned the win in doubles, when Brent Schreiber and Preston Groft won the No. 2 match in a pro-set (9-7). The Eagles also picked up singles victories from Schreiber, Cameron Miller and Noah Wise.

RED LION 5, SUSQUE HANNOCK 2: At Glen Rock, the Lions picked up singles victories from Sam Innerst, Alec Gayrama, Chase McNight and John Martin to earn the win. Innerst also combined with C.J. Weigle to win the No. 1 doubles match. For the Warriors, Shane Bookhultz won a singles match, and combined with Jake Shenk to win the No. 2 doubles match.

HANOVER 5, WEST YORK 2: At Hanover, the Nighthawks clinched the win in doubles, when Nathan Arndt and Jim Korman combined to win the No. 2 match in straight sets. In singles, the Nighthawks received victories from Cullen Rosenbrien, Korman and Cameron Bosserman. For the Bulldogs, Chris Hein and Jared Potts each won a singles match.

DELONE CATHOLIC 7, SPRING GROVE 0: At McSherrystown, Adam Fisher, Evan Staub, Matt Juchno, Eric Hippensteel and Ben Gutierrez each captured straight-set singles victories for the Squires.
