West York vs. Northeastern Part II will again be featured in the District 3 Class AAA football playoffs.

For the second straight season, the Bulldogs and Bobcats will present an All York-Adams matchup in the first round of the playoffs.

The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at West York.

The Bulldogs and Bobcats are two of 10 York-Adams teams that earned spots in the playoffs.

West York completed a perfect 10-0 regular season by shutting out New Oxford, 35-0, this past Friday night. Northeastern. meanwhile, put up its best regular-season record (7-3) since starting varsity football in 2008.

West York head coach Ron Miller knew after his team defeated the Bobcats, 35-14, in the ninth game of the season that there was the potential for a second contest between the teams.

"We (Miller and his assistants) were starting to track district points," Miller said. "It's difficult to predict it (a rematch), though, because there are so many possibilities."

The possibility became reality when West York finished as the No. 2-seeded team in the 16-team bracket, and Northeastern grabbed the 15th spot.

The Bobcats played the Bulldogs to a 14-14 standoff in the opening half of the first meeting, but West York shut out Northeastern in the second half.

"Their speed is what jumps out at me when I watch them." Miller said. "They hit us on a couple of big plays in the first game. I felt we were a little rattled early in the game, for whatever reason. We played much better defense in the second half."

Miller and his players are happy to be staying home for the start of the playoffs.

"It's been a good place for us to be," said Miller whose teams are 69-16 overall (81.2 winning percentage) in his seven seasons. "I feel we have the best fans, by far, in York County, and they do a good job of supporting us."

Home-field edge: West York is one of four York-Adams teams that gained a home-field advantage in the first round.

Central York (7-3) will play host to Chambersburg (6-4) in a Class AAAA game, Bermudian Springs (10-0) will welcome Susquenita (7-3) in a AA contest, and Delone Catholic (7-3) will stay in McSherrystown for its Class A game against Columbia (4-6).

The Central-Chambersburg and Bermudian Springs-Susquenita games are listed for 7 p.m. Friday. The Delone Catholic-Columbia game is set for 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16.

Five other league teams will open on the road.
