The Spring Grove softball team won its third-straight outright York-Adams League Division II championship on Thursday afternoon with a 4-1 win over visiting Northeastern.
Erika Heck struck out 12 in a complete-game four-hitter to get the win. By winning the division, Spring Grove also sewed up a spot in the upcoming York-Adams League Tournament. Spring Grove will face Division I champion Central York in the semifinals.
Morgan Bankert and Jenna Hull each went 2-for-3 for Spring Grove on Thursday. For the Bobcats, Amanda Reeder went 2-for-3.
Spring Grove improved to 9-2 in the division and 12-6 overall. During their three-year title run, the Rockets have compiled a 30-7 divisional record.
DALLASTOWN 5, NEW OXFORD 1: At Dallastown, Lindsey Miller's first-inning homer gave New Oxford the lead, but Wildcats' pitcher Kelsey Collins shut down the Colonials the rest of the way. Collins allowed just one more hit after Miller's homer while striking out 10 without a walk. Dallastown took the lead with three runs in the third and added two more in the fifth. Amanda Jones led the Wildcats' offense, going 3-for-3, including two triples, and driving in three runs.
KENNARD-DALE 13, DOVER 4: At Dover, the Rams plated five runs in the top of the fifth to take a commanding lead. At plate for the Rams, Julia D'Arrigo went 3-for-5, while teammate Rachael Delawder went 2-for-5. For the Eagles, Katie Diehl went 3-for-4, including two doubles, while teammate Alexis Shoemaker went 2-for-4.
